Sara Frances Hathcock, 86, of Valdosta died Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at her home. She was born on February 13, 1926 in Hazlehurst to the late Claude, Sr. and Mattie Kight McCrary and had lived in Valdosta for many years. Mrs. Hathcock was a member of the Faith Baptist Church and retired from Civil Service.
Survivors include her son and daughter in law, William J. and Debbie Stailey of Valdosta, her daughter and son in law, Ann and Donnie Holcomb of Quitman, her son and daughter in law, Mark Pollard Hathcock and Janice Hathcock of Gulport, MS, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one sister in law, Elouise McCrary of Brunswick, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy C. Hathcock, one brother, Claude McCrary, Jr. and one sister, Robbie Hendley.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Saturday, December 8, 2012 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Mickey Wisehart and Pastor Gene Wisehart officiating. Entombment will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
