SARA ELIZABETH BRINSON WILLIAMS, 87, of Albany died Thursday, February 24, 2005 at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman. She was born on September 13, 1917 in Whigham to the late Daniel Augustus and Patience Leona NeSmith Brinson and lived in Albany before moving to Valdosta in 1991. Mrs. Williams was a member of the Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany where she had served as a Sunday School Teacher and an associate member of the Park Avenue United Methodist Church in Valdosta. She was associated with Gayfers Department Store for 10 years.
Survivors include two daughters and one son in law, Susan Williams Powell of Tucson, Arizona, Sharon and Richard Stalvey of Valdosta, two grandsons, Cam and Brandi Stalvey and Harrison Stalvey all of Valdosta, one sister, Elise Rickels of Cairo, one brother, Lester Brinson of Crawfordville, Fla and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Williams.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Saturday, February 26, 2005 at the Crown Hill Cemetery Mausoleum with the Rev. V. L. Daughtery officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8pm at 215 Knob Hill Drive.
