Sara Bingham Vallotton

Sara Bingham Vallotton, 94, of Valdosta died Sunday, August 31, 2008. She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on August 15, 1914, was the daughter of the late Charlie and Richard Bingham. She attended Georgia State Women's College-now Valdosta State University. Before marriage she taught school and worked in drafting at the Telephone Company in Jacksonville, Florida. In 1942 she married and worker with her husband, Rouse Vallotton, running Vallotton's Dairy Plant and was active in many community services. She was also a past president of the Town and Country Garden Club, The Book Review Club, Past Regent of DAR, Mother of the Year in Lowndes County in 1973, and very active member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a wonderful, talented gardener spending many hours a day in her beloved garden.

Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Robert and Michaele Vallotton, daughter in law, Mala Vallotton all of Valdosta, five grandchildren, Rouse Vallotton II and wife Lynn, Joe Vallotton III, Wesley Vallotton, Sunny Vallotton Chew and husband Daniel, Bobbie Vallotton Cox and husband Tim, five great grandchildren, Lily and Ava Cox, Gabriel and Everest Chew, Rouse Vallotton, III. She was preceded in death in death by her husband, Rouse Vallotton, her son, Joe Vallotton and great grandson, Tarpley Vallotton.

Graveside services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at Sunset Hill Cemetery with Dr. Charles Adams and Rev. Thomas Mason, Jr. officiating.
