Sandi Brown, 53, of Valdosta, died on Monday, February 6, 2006 following a short illness. Mrs. Brown was born in Butler, GA on July 15, 1952 and had lived in this area for the past 25 years. She was a loving wife and mother and was an active, strong willed woman who took care of her family, her home, and her yard.
Survivors include her husband of 24 years, Jeff Brown, of Valdosta; two daughters, Julie Parks, of Las Vegas, NV, and Kenya Koch, of Leavenworth, KS; two sons and a daughter in law, Joe & Dana Brown and Scott Brown, all of Valdosta; four grandchildren, Brandon Hodges, of Las Vegas, NV, Isaiah Koch and Dallas Koch, both of Leavenworth, KS, and Jacob Brown of Valdosta; and her mother in law, Catherine Brown, of Valdosta. Mrs. Brown is preceded in death by her mother and step father, Margaret “Nanny” and William “Poppy” Hodges, and a sister, Belinda Butts.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2006 at Copeland Cemetery. Rev. Benny Woods will officiate. The family will receive friends at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home on Thursday afternoon from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Browns memory to offset funeral expenses.
