Samuel "Sam" Dean Donaldson, 58, of Valdosta passed away at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born in February 1, 1957 in McRae, GA to the late Samuel Dean Donaldson and Audrey Purvis Todd. In his younger years he spent a time at the Georgia Sheriffs' Boys Ranch in Hahira and became an alumni of the program. For more than 30 years he worked for Georgia Automatic Sprinkler as a pipe fitter and in his spare time he loved to play golf.
Sam is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Jordan Ganas of Valdosta; a sister, Melinda Killingsworth; three brothers, Chuck, Twyler, and Curry Todd all of Rincon, GA; several nieces and nephews and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Billy Frank Purvis.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, 2015 in the chapel at Carson McLane Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time.
