Samuel James Boone

Samuel James Boone, 86, of Valdosta, passed on April 13, 2023, at South Georgia Medical Center. Born in Valdosta, GA, on February 13, 1937, he is the son of the late Alton J. and Anna R. Boone. He was a graduate of Valdosta High School and the University of Georgia. After college he worked in dairy management for several years then returned to Valdosta and assisted the family on their dairy farm known as Boone's dairy. After the sale of the cattle, he worked at Langdale for 13 years, until he retired. He enjoyed working with cattle and outdoor activities.

Survivors include, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Alana and Bob Folsom, Cherylene and Bo Miller; three nephews and spouses, Rob and Deanna Folsom, Russ and Lana Folsom, and Barry Boone; two nieces, Michelle (Jeff) Moxley, Jennifer Miller; great nieces and nephews, Kaley, Kendall, Kelci and Rett Folsom, Zack Moxley, Austin (Breana) Boone, Gaines Boone, Jessie Boone, and Bo Miller, III. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Donna Curtis, and Melanie Mauldin.
