Samuel Bernard Pelstring, 82, of Lake Park died on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at South Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born on July 28, 1926 in Luverne, Minnesota to the late Bernard and Elenor Nelson Pelstring. He retired from Dickenson County Iowa as a Drug and Alcohol Abuse Councilor and has been a resident of this area for the past ten years. Mr. Pelstring was a United States Veteran having served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post #13 and was of the Catholic Faith.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Bernard and Pamela Pelstring of Willmar, Minnesota, Stephen and Lesley Pelstring of San Diego, California; a daughter and son-in-law, Penne and James Kent, Jr.; a son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Kaia Pelstring of Minneapolis, Minnesota; 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Darwin and Leslie Freebairn of San Diego, California, Gary and Carolyn Freebairn of Los Angeles, California; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Penne and Mike Conrad of Salt Lake City, Utah. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacquelyn Freebairn Pelstring.
