Sally Smith, 65, of Valdosta, expired on Monday, March 30, 2009 after complication of Alzheimer's Disease for the past ten years at Lakeland Villas Convalescent Center. She was born on December 12, 1943 in Wilson, North Carolina and was reared in Thomasville. Mrs. Smith was a graduate of the Macon Georgia School of Nursing and worked as Staff Nurse at South Georgia Medical Center. Later in her career she worked for Dr. Gerald Light in the dialysis center. Mrs. Smith was a member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church. She loved horticulture and people in general.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Lundie Smith of Valdosta; a daughter and son-in-law, Aimee and Mike McMillen of Atlanta; a son, Shawn Smith of St. Simons; a granddaughter, Carter McMillen of Atlanta; a sister, Libby Smith of South Carolina and two brothers, John Terry of Warner Robbins and Jimmy Terry of Atlanta. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her sister, Becky Woody.
