Sally Lingg Alexander

Sally Alexander, of Valdosta, died on Monday, January 25, 2010, at South Georgia Medical Center. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Sally was the daughter of the late Henry and Phoebe Rick Lingg. She had lived in Valdosta for the past 33 years and was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. Sally enjoyed time spent with family and her many friends, playing bridge, playing golf, going to lunch and at the Garden Club. She loved her cats and the beach.

She is survived by her daughters and son in law, Nancy A. and Stephen Walrath of Sandy Hook, Connecticut, and Jean Dale Alexander of Absecon, New Jersey; grandchildren, Scott Alexander Walrath, Mark Stephen Walrath and Craig Ryan Walrath. Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. "Bob" Alexander and a brother, Richard Lingg.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 29, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church. The Reverend Peter Ingeman will officiate. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Humane Society of Valdosta. Carson McLane Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. Alexander.
