Salley E. Anderson

Salley E. Anderson, 81, of Valdosta died Friday, December 16, 2011 at home. She was born on February 2, 1930 in Manhattan, Kansas and was the daughter of the late Myron L. Swanson and Mary Margaret Tobias Swanson. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Lawrence Endacott. Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Park Avenue United Methodist Church and a retired elementary teacher with the Valdosta City School System. She was involved with the Cub Scouting Program and her three sons are Eagle Scouts.

Survivors include her husband, Ben Anderson of Valdosta, three sons and daughters in law, Robert J. and Susie Anderson of Valdosta, Benton S. and Maria Anderson of Winter Park, Fla., Brian L. and Annette Anderson of Albany, her grandchildren, Ryan Anderson, Megan Anderson, Audrey Anderson, Sterling Anderson, Amanda Ramirez, Joel Miller, Heather Anderson and Mary Anderson. She was preceded in death by a son, Mark Anderson and a sister, Dorothy Fleenor.

Memorial services will be held at 2pm, Monday, December 19, 2011 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. David Tart officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1pm until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
