Sadie Deloach Oliver

Sadie DeLoach Oliver, 84, of Valdosta died on Thursday, March 1, 2012, after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Oliver was born in Echols County, on August 22, 1927, to the late Abran & Heneritta Justice DeLoach. Having grown up in Echols County, she moved to Ocoee, FL as a young lady and met and married her husband, the late Fitzhugh Huston Oliver in 1943. They lived in Florida for many years before moving back to Lowndes County 22 years ago. Mrs. Oliver was a devoted homemaker and caregiver to her family. She was an excellent cook and loved feeding her family, and was not satisfied until you had eaten your fill. Caring for her lawn and garden was another activity that she loved and was very skilled at. Mrs. Oliver also loved Jesus, and often sang hymns, especially in her last days. She was a member of Sardis Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Marjorie and Jerry Trammell of Vacaville, CA; grandchildren (and spouses), Kyrie (Chris) Delgado of Vacaville, CA, Michelle (Bebe) DeLaTorre of Winters, CA, Chris Molloy of Petaluma, CA, Shawn Molloy of Novato, CA, Jason Michael (Melissa) Oliver, of Plant City, FL, David Houston (Jessica) Oliver, of Littleton, CO; a daughter in law, Teresia Bradford of Palmetto, FL; 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Oliver was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Fitzhugh Huston Oliver, her son Stephen Michael Oliver and 11 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March, 5 2012 at Sardis Baptist Church. Reverend Garvie Nichols will officiate. Burial will follow in Carter Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from Noon until 2 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 225 N.
