Ruth Lillian Wright Adams

Ruth Lillian Wright Adams, 88, of Lake Park, died at home on Monday, August 18, 2008. Born on February 4, 1920 in Irwinville, she was the daughter of Henry and Mamie Rodgers Wright. Mrs. Adams was a homemaker and member of Azalea City Church of God.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Leonard Adams, Horace Adams, and Hilton Adams all of Valdosta, Mary Mitchell of Apopka, FL, Julia and David Hart of Orlando, FL, Phillip and Donna Adams of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Samuel Adams of Unadilla, Claude Adams, Wanda Day and Sonya Easters all of Valdosta. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; two sisters, Thelma Taylor of Rocky Mountain, NC and Hanna Collins of Aster, FL; a brother, Hubert Wright of New Smyrna Beach, FL. Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Adams; a grandson, Kenneth R. Adams and a great grandson, Michael Adams.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2008 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Franklin Walden and Rev. Raymond Gabbard officiating. Burial will follow in the Redland Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
