Ruth Harper Babb

Ruth Harper Babb, 99, of Valdosta, passed away Friday, February 23, 2018 at South Georgia Medical Center. Ruth was born August 2, 1918 in Lone Oak, KY to the late Joe and Delma Skaggs Harper. She worked as a secretary for her husband’s plumbing company. She was a member of Central Avenue Church of Christ and Lone Oak Church of Christ.
Ruth is survived by her sons, Dr. James E. Jackson, of Valdosta, and David Witte (Angela), of Dallas, TX; her grandchildren, Evan Witte, Carissa Witte, Katie and Luke Baine, of Clarksville, TN, Ryan and Sara Jackson, of Valdosta, and Mark Jackson, of Columbus; her great grandchildren, Gideon Baine, Bryce Jackson, Landon Jackson, Parker Reid Jackson, and Sydney Katya Jackson, and her niece Karen Weeks, of Mt. Pleasant, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband Thurman Julian Babb, her parents and daughter-in-law Rosemary Jackson.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. John Klimko, Jr., officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Paducah, KY, in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Georgia Christian School, 4359 Dasher Rd., Valdosta, GA, 31601.
