Ruth Ann Exum, 67, of Valdosta, died on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at South Georgia Medical Center following a period of declining health. She was born on September 17, 1957, in Atlanta to the late Trapnell and Minnie Ruth Lee Hunter. Ann received her master’s degree in education from Valdosta State University and was employed with the Lowndes County School system. She primarily taught 2nd grade at Pine Grove Elementary. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Valdosta.

Ann is survived by her daughter, Kara Exum of Valdosta; her brother, Bill Hunter of Rocky Mount, NC; sisters-in-law, Lama Exum and family of Fitzgerald, and Janice Pittman and family of Valdosta, and many other dear family and friends. She was preceded by her husband, Arthur Wayne Exum and her son, Christopher Exum.

Services for Ann Exum will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Massie officiating. The burial will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.
