Russell Wayne Neesmith

RUSSELL WAYNE NeeSMITH, 55, of Hahira died Friday, June 8, 2007 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. He was born on August 23, 1951 in Lyons, Georgia to Joyce Inez Tomlin NeeSmith and the late Edward Russell NeeSmith and had lived in Hahira since 1995. Mr. NeeSmith was a GEO Surveyor and veteran of the United States Air Force and was employed as a construction superintendent with Cauthan Construction Company. He loved to play the guitar, fish and enjoyed sports and was a cowboy.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia NeeSmith of Hahira, three daughters, Amy Barge of Wyoming, Alecia Smits of Alaska, Christa Chester of Hahira, one son, Stephen Chester serving in Japan with the United States Navy, his mother Joyce Tomlin NeeSmith of Lake Park, grandchildren, Ariel Adams, Colt Adams, Cody Adams, Drew Burns, Skyler Smits, Brianna Smits, Landon Miller and Mason Miller, two brothers and sisters in law, Randall H. and Imogene NeeSmith of Lake Park and George T. and Kathy NeeSmith of Hahira and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Monday, June 11, 2007 in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home with graveside services at 4pm at the Lyons City Cemetery in Lyons, Georgia.
