Rufus B, Howell

Rufus B. Howell, 85, of Valdosta, died Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on October 12, 1922 in Blackshear to Arthur and Minnie Justice Howell. He retired from King Edward Cigar as a machinist.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Huey and Nancy Howell of Valdosta; granddaughter and her husband, Donna and Gary Rentz of Rome; grandson and his wife, Michael and Dawn Howell of Valdosta, three great grandchildren, Rachel and Morgan Rentz of Rome, Lailee Howell of Valdosta. He is also survived by his sisters, Sarah Thornton and Minnie Lee Howell; sister and brother-in-law, Imogene and Jessie Bailey all of Blackshear; brother and sister-in-law, Dewey and Annie Howell of Waycross, two sisters-in-law, Vina Howell and Wanda Howell of Blackshear and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Howell; his son, Jimmy Howell and his three brothers, Robert, Toomer, and Jack Howell.

A service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2007 in the mausoleum chapel at Riverview Memorial Gardens with Pastor Keith Allsbrook officiating.
