Rubye E. Culpepper Corbett, 89, of Valdosta, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Lake Haven Nursing Home. She was born on April 6, 1918 in Echols County to the late Frank and Nan Browning Culpepper. Mrs. Corbett was an accountant with Eastern Airlines, a member of Abundant Life Church of God where she taught Sunday school, was in charge of the military ministry and was a member of the adult choir. She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis Lonnie Corbett, five sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Wiemer of Tallahassee, FL, two grandchildren, Laura Jackman (Ken) of Niceville, FL, Randy Wiemer of Palm Springs, CA, two great grandchildren, Andrew Jackman of Jacksonville, FL and Bryan Jackman of Wilmington, NC, one sister, Cordie Register of Lake Park.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 8, 2008 at two p. m. at the Abundant Life Church of God, 1901 North Forrest Street, Valdosta, GA with Reverend Wayne Hughes officiating. She will be placed in the church at one p. m. Burial will follow in Carter Cemetery in Echols County. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to United Hospice, 407 Cowart Avenue, Valdosta, GA 31602 or to the building fund of Abundant Life Church of God. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Friday at the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at mclanefuneralservices.com.
