Ruby M. Taylor, 85 of Jacksonville, died on Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at her daughter’s residence after a lengthy illness. Born on January 15, 1920 in Jacksonville, FL, she was the daughter of the late Mannie and Ellie Victoria Bell Stratton. She retired from Anchor Hocking Glass Corp. as an inspector and was a member of the 103rd Street Church of God in Jacksonville.
Survivors are four daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Charles Presnell of North Carolina, Virginia and Murl Johnson and Linda and Stanley Leverock all of Jacksonville, Karen and Tommy Delk of Georgia; one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Tara Taylor of South Carolina; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mildred and Lewis Lloyd, Ellemur Taylor, Donnie Cason and Betty and Charlie Thigpen and a special sister-in-law, Wealthy Stratton all of Jacksonville and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister, Thomas Stratton, David Stratton and Mary Louise Johnson and one son, James Gary Taylor.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2005 at the 103rd Street Church of God in Jacksonville with Brother Charles C. Goble officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Fraser Funeral Home, 8168 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205, (904) 781-4314. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, 205 Woodrow Wilson Dr., Valdosta, GA 31602.
