Ruby Lastinger Davis

RUBY LASTINGER DAVIS, 83, of Valdosta died peacefully on Monday, July 16, 2007 after a brief illness. She was born on March 23, 1924 in Lowndes County to the late Cauley C. and Rilla Hall Lastinger and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. Davis was a member of the Bemiss United Methodist Church and retired from Eckerd Drugs. She loved taking care of her family and friends.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters in law, Mike and Gay Davis of Valdosta, Harold Davis of Valdosta and Danny and Dree Davis of Dublin, two daughters and sons in law, Janet and Alan McAllister of Tifton and Karen and Steve Hall of Valdosta, grandchildren and their spouses, Jeremy (Charlotte) Davis, Olivia (Ashley) Fletcher, Ashley, Amber and Autumn Davis, Tyler, Trevor and Tara Davis, Hunter and Callie McAllister, Garrison, Gracie and Georgia Hall, great grandchildren, Emma Davis, Noah Davis and Zeb Fletcher, stepgrandchildren, Will McAllister and Steven and Jake Hall, one brother, Arley Jasper Lastinger of Jennings, Fla. and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Luther Davis.

Funeral services will be held at 10am, Thursday, July 19, 2007 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Mays officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery in Hahira. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7-9pm at the funeral home.Memorials may be made to the Bemiss United Methodist Church.
