Ruby Lane (Ruby Red) Corbett

Ruby Lane (Ruby Red) Corbett, 66, of Valdosta, died on Sunday, October 12, 2008 at Kindred Hospital in Green Cove Springs, FL. Born on October 23, 1941 in Valdosta, she was the daughter of Edward Comer, Sr. and Ruby Hutchinson Lane. She graduated from Valdosta State University with a Business degree. She loved motorcycles and was an original member of the Hell's Angels. Ms. Corbett had a great love and concern for family and friends and checked on them often.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Maynard and Angela Corbett and a grandson, Austin Corbett, all of Valdosta; brothers and sisters-in-law, Junior and Mary Lane of Valdosta, Brinson and Ceinna Lane of Athens; sister, Shirley Lane of Valdosta and a special nephew, Simon Metzler of Valdosta. She is also survived by several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Karen Corbett and a grandson, James Corbett.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2008 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
