Royce D. Thursby

ROYCE D. THURSBY, 76, of Hahira died Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at his home. He was born on August 22, 1931 in Donalsville, Georgia and had lived in Hahira for many years. Mr. Thursby was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church and was retired from the United States Air Force. He was retired civilian at Moody Air Force Base from the self help store, member of the Hahira Masonic Lodge #346 and had served as Scout Master for Hahira Troup #440. He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Jewel Thursby.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Thursby of Hahira, two sons and daughters in law, John and Janice Thursby of Hahira, Craig and Karla Thursby of Lake Jackson, TX., three grandsons, Ryan (Gina) Thursby of Little Rock, Ark., Justin Thursby and Travis Thursby both of Lake Jackson, TX., great grandson, Josh Thursby of Little Rock, Ark., four aunts, Lucille Rangel, Alice Tharp, Grace Thursby and Mary Ellen Thursby all of Donalsville and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the Fellowship Baptist Church with Mr. Webster Johnson and Rev. Roscoe Bennett officiating. Burial with military honors and Masonic rites will follow in the Fellowship Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
