Roy Gatlin, 74, of Statenville, died on Friday, December 6, 2013 at South Georgia Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born on September 3, 1939 in Sasser, Georgia to the late Theodore and Mattie Hollingsworth Gatlin. Mr. Gatlin was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a retired self-employed truck driver. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Judy Pafford Gatlin of Statenville; son, Steve Gatlin of Macon; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Roger Ribbke of Reddick, Illinois; sons and daughters-in-law, Chad and Kathleen Pafford of Statenville and David and Leslie Gatlin of Birmingham, Alabama; daughters and a son-in-law, Kathy Gatlin of Panasoffkee, Florida and Kari and Kevin Brown of Hahira; 14 grandchildren, Joshua Gatlin, Lacey Gatlin, Trey Ribbke, T.J. Ribbke, Tyler Bridgers, Atalia Surdi, Thomas Gatlin, Patrick Gatlin, Patricia Gatlin, Madison Gatlin, Kaycee Pafford, Eli Pafford and Gavin Brown; a sister, Frances Fitzgerald of Hawkinsville, Georgia; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Chip Gatlin and 8 brothers and sisters.
A graveside service for Roy Gatlin will be held on Monday, December 9, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens with Pastor Chris Martin officiating.
