Roy G. Radney, 83 of Lake Park, founder of Radney Plumbing Inc., established in 1965, died on Friday, April 13, 2007 at his residence. He was born in 1924 to the late Green and Annie Lee McCrackin Radney in Morven. Mr. Radney served in the United States Navy during World War II and received the Purple Heart. He was a Mason and a member of Emanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors are his sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Donna Radney of Valdosta, Tommy and Debbie Radney of Lake Park; grandchildren, John Reed, Jr. of Adel, T. J. Radney of Valdosta, Glenn Reed of Adel, Patricia Radney of Orlando, Tracy Long of Alabama, Clint Radney of Valdosta, Mary Cope of Hahira, Dustin Radney and Angela Radney both of Valdosta; several great grandchildren; sisters, Wilma George of Albany and Lois Godwin of Adel. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Marilyn Radney, his daughter, Linda Reed and brothers, William Radney and Milton Radney.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 16, 2007 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Wayne Montgomery and Dr. Steve Ward officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn City Cemetery in Adel. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
