Roy Eugene Sculley

Roy Eugene Sculley, 71, of Valdosta died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at his home. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on December 1, 1939 to the late Walter and Estelle Allen Sculley and had lived in Valdosta since 1992. Mr. Sculley was retired from Kennedy Trucking Lines and a veteran of the United States Marines. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Valdosta. Mr. Sculley was an amazing, loving, kind, gentle and forgiving man who enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was always smiling and never met a stranger and loved to pick on his son, Timmy. Mr. Sculley was called "The Professor" by his sister and only his sister.

Survivors include his children and their spouses, Darren and Caren Sculley, Michael Sculley all of Pensacola, Fla., Timothy and Patricia Johnson of Valdosta, Kathy and Charlie King of Hilliard, Fla., 11-grandchildren, Christopher Johnson who was his Papa's Buddy, Robert King, Tanya Crouch, Mark Doughty, Jr., Donald Doughty, Michael Douglas, Jr., William Douglas, Melissa Douglas, Austin David Sculley, Nicholas Eugene Sculley and Darren David Sculley, Jr., 6-great grandchildren, sister and brother in law, Janie and Bud Bell of Jacksonville numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce White Sculley, a brother, Jerry Sculley and a sister, Betty Ryan.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, February 26, 2011 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Alton Hardee officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
