Valdosta resident Roy Edward Taylor, Jr., 52, died January 31, 2005 after a short illness while visiting family in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Eddie, as he was known to all who loved him, was born September 21, 1952 in Douglas, Georgia to Roy Edward Taylor, Sr. and the late Irma Adams Taylor. He graduated from Tift County High School in 1970. He married Mary Peugh on August 11, 1972.
For the past 12 years he has served as the President of the Roy Taylor Agency in Valdosta. Eddie was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan, loved to play golf at the Spring Hill Country Club in Tifton, and cherished every moment he spent with his new grand-daughter, Haley.
His family wrote: “Eddie's generosity, good nature, and kind heart were an inspiration to all who knew him. He lived a life of integrity, love and friendship that stands as his legacy.”
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary Peugh Taylor; two sons, Trey and Trent; daughter-in-law Holly; and, the joy of his life, grand-daughter Haley. He also leaves behind his father Roy E. Taylor, Sr. and stepmother Carolyn; brothers Eric and Tony; sister Laurie Ann; and father-in-law Herbert Peugh. Also surviving are his aunts Kathy Darr and Dockie Adams and uncle Jackie Adams. His passing is mourned by a host of neices, nephews, cousins and a legion of friends, each of whom remember this special man."
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, February 5, 2005 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Schappaugh officiating.
