Roy C. Hathcock, 83, of Valdosta died on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Born in West, Mississippi on December 22, 1922, he was the son of the late Ben C. and Lorene Thweatt Hathcock. He served with the United States Air Force for 23 years and retired as Senior Master Sergeant.. Mr. Hathcock was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sara McCrary Hathcock; sons and daughters in law, Mark Pollard and Janice Hathcock of Gulfport, Mississippi, William John and Debbie Stailey of Valdosta, daughter and son in law, Ann and Donnie Holcomb of Quitman, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren; brother and sister in law, Mark and Sarah Hathcock of Durant, Mississippi, sister and brother in law, Margie and Byron Gates of Elkton, Tennessee, brothers in law and sister in law, Claude (J. R.) and Elouise McCrary of Brunswick, Talmadge Hendley of Valdosta, numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2006 at Faith Baptist Church in Valdosta with Pastor Gene Wisehart and Pastor Mickey Wisehart officiating. Entombment will follow at the mausoleum at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
