Rounie Allen Tinsley

Rounie Allen Tinsley, 93, of Valdosta died Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at her home. She was born in Naylor on October 12, 1916 to the late Frank and Frankie Allen and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. Tinsley was an active member of Good Hope Baptist Church until her health declined. In her earlier years she enjoyed fishing, shopping and putting up vegetables. She was the greatest mother that anyone could asked for and was always there for her family, opening her home to anyone who needed help.

Survivors include her three sons and a daughter in law, Donnie Tinsley, Dannie and Debi Tinsley and Kim Tinsley all of Valdosta, her grandchildren, April (Brian) Simpson, Brandon Tinsley, Amanda (John) Wright, D.D. Tinsley and Mikey Bennett, great grandchildren, Bailey Harper, Shelby Harper and Gracie Tinsley and a great grandchild to be born in March that will be named Tinsley if is a girl or will be named Henry if is a boy, very special nephew, Charles Allen of Oklahoma, brother in law and sisters in law, John A. and Mary Alice Tinsley of Valdosta, Nettie Allen of Lakeland, Ruth Tinsley of Cairo and Juanita Allen of Lakeland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Henry Tinsley and 10 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Friday, December 4, 2009 at the Good Hope Baptist Church with Rev. A. M. Anderson, Mr. John A. Tinsley and Dr. Ernie Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7-9pm at the funeral home.
