Rosey Brantley Blackman, 81, of Valdosta, died Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Lanier County on March 24, 1928 to the late John and Nancy Brantley. Mrs. Blackman was a homemaker, a member and volunteer with the Salvation Army.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph M. Blackman, one son, Robert Brantley and one sister, Edna Brantley Marlow. Mrs. Blackman is survived by four sons, John Henry Fender and Marvin Brantley of Clyattville, Billy Joe Warren of Alabama and David Lee Warren of Hahira, two daughters, Betty Jean Warren of Valdosta and Edna Mae Warren of Alabama, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, step grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 31, 2009 at two p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Captain Guy Nickum officiating. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Friday at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Salvation Army, 317 Virginia Avenue, Valdosta, GA 31601. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at mclanefuneralservices.com.
