Rosemary Elizabeth Zagorski

November 17, 1928 — February 19, 2013

Services for Rosemary Elizabeth Zagorski, 84, of Valdosta, Georgia will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013, at 2:00pm. The funeral mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Valdosta, where she was a parishioner. Father Daniel O'Connell will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday evening at the Carson McLane Funeral Home in Valdosta from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Patrick Zagorski, Matthew Zagorski, John Zagorski, Tanner Sauls, Thomas Muldowney and Carlton Calhoun. Committal and interment will be held on Monday, February 25, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carverton, Pennsylvania under the direction of the Snowdon Funeral Home, Shaverton, Pennsylvania.

Rosemary went home to be with the Lord on February 18, 2013 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's.

She was born Rosemary Elizabeth Muldowney on November 17, 1928 in Summit, New Jersey. She later moved to the Bronx, New York, New York. She was the daughter of the late Walter E. Muldowney and Alice Quinn Muldowney. She was married to Walter John Zagorski on July 12, 1952 and moved to Yorktown Heights, New York in 1955. Walter preceded Rosemary in death on April 11, 1991. Rosemary retired from the New York Board of Cooperative Educational Services where she worked for over 25 years as Administrative Assistant to the Director of Special Education. She then moved to Shavertown, Pennsylvania where she resided until March 2011 when she made the move to Valdosta. Rosemary was a devoted wife and mother. She loved the title of grandma and said that being a grandparent was "the icing on the cake."

Her hobbies included breeding and raising champion Cairn Terriers and showing them in dog shows all over the country even winning several ribbons at Westminster AKC, Madison Square Garden in New York. Gardening was a favorite past time and her gardens were inspiring. Rosemary was gentle in spirit and kind in nature and leaves a rich heritage of beautiful memories to her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen Loredan and her husband George of Queens, New York; her son, Michael Zagorski and his wife Elizabeth of Solon, Ohio, and son, Donald Zagorski and his fiancé, Janet of Boston, Georgia; grandchildren, Patrick Zagorski, Portland, Oregon, Matthew Zagorski and John Zagorski of Valdosta, Georgia, Alexandria Zagorski and Victoria Zagorski of Solon, Ohio, Dennis Loredan and Claire Loredan of Queens, New York; her brother, Tom Muldowney and wife Patricia Muldowney of Dunkirk, New York, and sister in law Lillian Muldowney of Stony Brook, New York. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Walter Eddie Muldowney.
