Rosco Carl Adams, 77, of Valdosta died Sunday, October 9, 2011 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on January 16, 1934 in Corinth, Kentucky to the late James and Emma Crook Adams. Mr. Adams was a member of the First Christian Church, Azalea Masonic Lodge #716, the American Legion and was a graduate of the Air Force Academy. He retired from the United States Air Force having served in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. After retirement he owned and operated Furniture Hospital for many years. Mr. Adams was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who loved visiting with people and enjoyed putsing.
Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Adams of Valdosta, his twin sons and a daughter in law, Carl and Debbie Adams, Kenneth Adams all of Valdosta, daughter and son in law, Michele Rose and Michael Bishop of Lake Park, his grandchildren and their spouses, C.J. (Bridget) Adams, William Michael Frier, Jamie Theresa Bishop, Emily Brooke Adams, B.J. (Gini) Southers and Daniel Southers, great grandchildren, Hannah Frier, Fischer Adams, Abigail Southers and Easton Southers, sister and brother in law, Katherine and Delbert Hammond of Kentucky and numerous friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at the First Christian Church with Rev. Chris Michael officiating. Burial with full military honors and Masonic rites will follow at the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
