RONALD STEPHENS, 84, of Dasher died Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at the Holly Hill Nursing Home. He was born in Shrewsbury, West Virginia on February 24, 1921 to the late Ronald E. Sr. and Lula Mae McSurley Stephens and had lived in Lowndes County for several years. Mr. Stephens was a member of the Central Avenue Church of Chirst and a veteran of the United States Marine Corp having served in the South Pacific during World War II. He retired from Dupont Chemical after many years of service and after his retirement he conducted singing training school across the south.

Survivors include his wife, Betsy Stephens of Dasher, two daughters, Carol Moore and Donna Kay, one son, Ronald Stephens, III, several grandchildren, one sister, Jeanie Martin of Charleston, WVA.

Funeral services will be held at 10am, Friday, August 5, 2005 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. G. R. Holton officiating. Burial will follow in the Dasher Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 9:30a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Raintree Village Childrens Home, 3657 Johnston Road, Valdosta, GA 31601.
