Ronald (Ron) E. Thomas

Ronald (Ron) E. Thomas, 55, of Valdosta died Wednesday, November 30, 2011 in Gainesville, Florida. He was born on May 17, 1956 in Valdosta to Geraldine Mullis Thomas and the late James Edward Thomas, Sr. and was a lifelong resident of Valdosta. Mr. Thomas was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church and the church choir. He was a past member of Heaven Saints Motorcycle Ministry and a former business owner in the field of auto body collision repair. Mr. Thomas had been a basketball coach at the Boys Club, loved his family, loved to go to muscle car shows and enjoyed vintage cars.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy Altman Thomas of Valdosta, his daughter, Amanda Thomas of Valdosta, his mother, Geraldine Mullis Thomas Roberts of Naylor, two sisters and brothers in law, Kathy and Glen Montgomery of Hinesville, Sheryl and Joe Jackson of Valdosta, three brothers and sisters in law, Raymond and Chryse Thomas, Donnie and Trina Thomas, James and Carly Thomas all of Valdosta, his mother in law, Linda T. Altman of Tift County, sister in law and brother in law, Cris A. and Ed Lawson of Tift County, brother in law and sister in law, Gary and Beverly Altman of Cordele, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald E. Thomas, Jr., his father, James E. Thomas, Sr. and his father in law, James C. Altman.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Monday, December 5, 2011 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Ken Alford and Rev. Brian Gilliland officiating. Burial will follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4pm at the funeral home.
