Ronald Moore

Ronald Moore, 79, of Valdosta died Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at his home after a lengthy illness. Born Aulton Ronald Moore on April 23, 1938 in Lanier County to the late Carl L. and Katie Taylor Moore. Ronald graduated from Naylor High School in 1956. He began a career with Crackin Good Bakers for twenty years. He then along with his wife, Jean owned and operated Azalea City Florist for thirty seven years retiring in 2011. He was always involved in sports, he coached Little League Baseball for the Boys and Girls Club during the years his son, Keith played. He enjoyed watching VSU Basketball and was an avid Atlanta Braves Fan. Before Ronald's health began to decline he enjoyed fishing, working in his yard and traveling. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Covenant Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of fifty four years, Jean Hayes Moore; two daughters and a son in law, Alisa Crown, Rhonda and James Thagard all of Valdosta; his seven grandchildren, Sarah Thagard, Auldon Crown, Bryant Thagard, Travis Moore, Ryan Moore Watson and Curt Watson, Shawn Moore, Brandon and Candace Moore and five great grandchildren; sisters in law and brothers in law, JoAnn Moore, Sally Moore, Betty Pittman, Shirley Hayes, Dorothy Hughes, Jackie Keene, Wanda and Sammie Kent, Kathy and Jim Bennett; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Keith Moore, three brothers, Marlin Moore, Crantford Moore and Ellis Moore, two nephews, Butch Moore and Delon Moore.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Saturday, August 26, 2017 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor David Cummings, Pastor Michael Bass and Pastor Bob Willis officiating. Burial will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8pm at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
