Rollin David Johnson

Rollin D. Johnson, 64, of Valdosta passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 29, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born July 12, 1951 in Washington D. C., a son of Leonard and Yolande Johnson of Vienna, Virginia.
Rollin was a retired veteran of the United States Air Force, serving for twenty years. Upon retirement he received a Bachelor's of Nursing degree from Valdosta State University and spent several years working as a registered nurse and later worked as a hospital administrator. He loved to cook and always admired the great outdoors. Rollin was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Cherrie Pelayo Johnson of Valdosta, daughter and son in law, Rogena Johnson Lao and Timothy Lao of Buford, GA, two sons and daughters in law, Leonard and Brooke Johnson of Sugar Hill, GA, Eric and Tisha Johnson of Hahira, daughter, Brittany Venus Johnson of Valdosta, grandchildren, Dylan Lao, Devyn Lao, Janey Johnson, Eli Johnson, Kendall Johnson and Kellan Johnson, his mother, Yolande Rowbottom Johnson of Vienna, VA, three brothers, Gordon Johnson of Smithfield, VA, Paul Johnson of Loomis, CA and Brian Johnson of Malvern, PA, his sister, Marie Shotwell of San Ramon, CA, the mother of Rogena, Leonard and Eric, Estrellita (Letty) Johnson of Sugar Hill, GA. He is predeceased by his father, Leonard Wayne Johnson.
A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, August 1, 2015 at eleven a. m. at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Paul Ladda officiating. Burial will be Monday, August 3, 2015 at two p. m. at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
