Roland Franklin Wynn, 92, of Hahira died Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Fellowship Home after a lengthy illness. He was born in Hahira on March 25, 1928 to the late Milton Eugene Wynn, Sr. and Nellie Mae Howell Wynn and had lived in Hahira for most of his life. Mr. Wynn was a Methodist and veteran of the United States Navy from having served in the Korean Conflict while stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii. Mr. Wynn retired as Sales Representative with Stokely Van Camp in 1970 in Miami, FL, then moved back to Hahira and retired from J. H. Harvey in 1990. Mr. Wynn enjoyed fishing, gardening and cooking for his family. He had been a resident at Fellowship Home for the last seven years and was known at Fellowship Home for sharing his soft peppermint candy. The family is very thankful for the special care Mr. Wynn received from the Staff at Fellowship Home and Hospice of South Georgia.
Survivors include his two daughters and sons in law, Kathy and Gary Hutchinson of Valdosta, Gayle and Steve Taylor of Hahira; four grandchildren, Kristen Hutchinson Dees and Ivy Dees of Hoover, AL, Kelly Hutchinson Pittsley and Joel Pittsley of Carrollton, GA, Preston and Jessica Taylor of Hahira, Hannah Taylor of Hahira and her fiancé, Taylor Wooldridge of Valdosta; great grandchildren, Cole Dees, Collins Dees, Maddox Pittsley, Lucas Pittsley; his sister, Hazel Wynn Bennett of Adel; two sisters in law, Ann Wynn of Madison, GA, Chris Wynn of Leesburg, FL; several niece and nephews. He is preceded in death by his former wife and mother of his daughters, Margie Wynn; two brothers, Milton Eugene Wynn, Jr. and John Eston Wynn; his brother in law, Wilbur Bennett and a nephew, Douglas Wynn.
A private graveside memorial service will be held at Fellowship Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice of South Georgia. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com Martin/McLane Funeral Home of Hahira.
