Roberta L. Neighbors, 77 of Valdosta died on Monday, September 26, 2005 in Valdosta. Born on February 15, 1928 in Vincennes, Knox Co., IN, she was the daughter of the late Robert Carl and Ruth C. Snyder Madden. Mrs. Neighbors was a self-employed seamstress, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and of the Christian faith.
Survivors are four children, Patricia L. Smith of Royston, Tom and Nancy Armes of Valdosta, Kevin and Marie Neighbors and Donald and Betsy Neighbors all of Clyattville; stepson and his wife, Dallas O., Jr. and Inez Neighbors; sisters Mable Riester of Phoenix, AZ, Virginia Scheid of Vincennes, IN; grandchildren, Larry Armes, Larry Breeden, Marty Armes, Kimberly Tutt, Melissa D. Smith, Donald R. Neighbors, Kelly Neighbors, T. C. Armes, Donna Neighbors, Nicole Armes, Dustin Neighbors, John Neighbors, Katie L. Neighbors and Jay and Jennifer Neighbors; 9 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by husbands Thomas E. Armes and Dallas Otis Neighbors, son, Larry Dean Armes, Sr. and a sister Carolyn Zerkle.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2005 in the chapel of the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home. Pastor Elbert Cox and Reverend Wayne Boykin will officiate. Burial will follow at Carter Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home.
