Robert Wayne Phillips

Robert Wayne Phillips, 61, of Valdosta lost his battle with cancer on Saturday, June 18, 2016. He left this world surrounded by his family and friends. He was born in Valdosta on August 10, 1954 to the late Raybon Carnell (R.C.) and Betty Jo Simpson Phillips and was a lifelong resident of Valdosta. Mr. Phillips attended Redland Baptist Church and a general contractor. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Mr. Phillips enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time at the beach. He also enjoyed golf cart cruising, Shark Tank, helping anyone he could and being a Master on the grill. Mr. Phillips loved his family pet, Sparkles.
Survivors include his wife, Jan Southall Phillips of Valdosta; his stepson and stepdaughter in law, Justin and Leslie Barrett of Lake Park; his stepdaughter, Jessica Barrett of Valdosta; his grandchildren, Analei Barrett, Marlee Cowart, Emmett Cowart; his sister and brother in law, Shirley and Jerry York of Moultrie; his brother and sister in law, Raymond and Peggy Phillips of Valdosta; his nephews, Aaron Darnell and his wife Keri, Jason York and his wife Michelle; his niece, Heather Phillips; great niece and nephews, Caden York, Austin York, Eileen Darnell.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Wednesday, June 22, 2016 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Jay Watkins and Pastor Jim Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
