Robert Mccoy Fennell

Robert McCoy Fennell, 59, of Valdosta, died on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at South Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Valdosta, on September 8, 1960, he has been a lifelong resident of this area. Robert grew up in Valdosta and graduated from Valdosta High School in 1978. After high school, he served briefly in the U.S. Air Force. He soon returned to Valdosta and started working with his father in the family contracting business building homes. Robert was especially skilled at designing Air Conditioning systems and electrical systems. He continued to develop his skills in the area of electrical design, working and taking classes and became an Automation Engineer and System Designer for Ace Technology. In 2000, Robert met the former Brandie Sumner, they began dating and on March 23, 2001, they were married in Honolulu, Hawaii. He had two favorite pastimes, going to Panama City Beach and fishing with family members.

Survivors include his wife, Brandie Sumner Fennell, of Valdosta; a daughter Nicole (Scott) Rowe of Hahira; his son, McCoy Fennell of Valdosta; his mother and step father, Ruth & Randy Parker of Valdosta; his sister, Mary Ann Kilpatrick-Marshall and her husband Tommy Kilpatrick, of Valdosta. Also surviving is a granddaughter, Claire Rowe of Hahira; a niece Krystle Kilpatrick of Valdosta; his mother in law, Elizabeth Tyson of Satsuma, FL and several other aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his father, McCoy Fennell.

The funeral for Robert will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. Rev. Jack Seivard will officiate. Entombment will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
