Robert Long, Jr.

Robert Long, Jr., 84, of Valdosta died Monday, February 2, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on March 3, 1930 in Richmond, Kentucky to the late Robert, Sr. and Clara Lee Stafford Long and had lived in Ohio for many years before moving to Valdosta in November 2014. Mr. Long was retired from General Motors after thirty two years of service and a member of the Enon Church of God in Enon, Ohio. He loved his family and enjoyed working and helping others.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Anna Davis Long of Valdosta, a daughter, Linda Long Bair of Valdosta, three grandsons, Robert "Matt" Bair of Valdosta, Mark and Melissa Bair of Virginia Beach, VA; John Bair of Valdosta, seven great grandchildren, Mimi Bair, Meagan Bair both of Moultrie, Noah Bair of Valdosta, Madison Bair, Katelyn Bair, Tyler "Robert" Bair all of Virginia Beach, VA and Lilly Bair of Marietta; special friends, Dianne Howard of Valdosta and John Joiner of Valdosta, one brother, Kenneth Long of Seaman, OH; numerous nieces, nephews, brothers in law and sisters in law, neighbors and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, February 7, 2015 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Nelligan officiating. Entombment will follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
