Robert Lee (Bobby) Dollar

Robert Lee (Bobby) Dollar, 71, of Houston, TX, formerly of Valdosta, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at his home and will be greatly missed. He was born on November 29, 1940 in Lowndes County to the late Robert and Bertha Dollar. Bobby proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 - 1966. More craftsman than Carpenter, his true calling was on the construction site building houses; Bobby was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his son, Robby (Elaine ) Dollar of Houston, TX; granddaughter, Nicole Gibson; great grandchildren, Mason, Jesse and Nia; great-great grandson, Matthew; son, John (Brenda) Dollar of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Jana and Megan and great granddaughter, Savannah; son, Andy (Holly) Dollar of Maui, HI; and one daughter, Teresa Dollar of Maryland. Bobby is also survived by his sisters, Gwen Vance of Suwanee, GA, Shirley (Mike) Townsend of Valdosta, GA, Beverly (Jerry) Smith of Woodstock, GA, Martha (Stanley) Luke of Nashville, GA; a sister-in-law, Claire Dollar of Valdosta, GA; mother of his children, Jean Bauserman of North Carolina; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Dollar and brother-in-law, John Vance.

In keeping with Bobby's wishes, cremation has taken place in Texas. A graveside memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2012 at Riverview Memorial Gardens, Valdosta.
