Robert L. Yale, Sr.

Robert L. Yale, Sr. 81, of Valdosta died Friday, October 10, 2008 at Langdale Hospice House. He was born in Valdosta on January 1, 1927 and was a son of the late Arthur T. Yale, Sr. and Mae Elizabeth Simpson Yale Woodruff. Mr. Yale was a member of the Central Avenue Church of Christ and retired from CSX Transporation. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy having served in World War II. Mr. Yale was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and Christian man. He enjoyed bowling and fishing.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Jane Walko Yale of Valdosta, daughter and son in law, Nancy M. and Ron Butler of Scottsdale, AZ., sons and daughters in law, Robert L., Jr. and Stella Yale of Valdosta, David M. and Jackyvette Yale of Suwanee, GA., grandchildren and their spouses, Heather and Stac Phillips, Robert Lee, III and Beth Yale, Allen Gregory and Laura Yale, Deirdre Yale Hamilton, Michael R. Yale, Kayla Yale and Justin Yale, 7-great grandchildren, sisters and brother in law, Betty Yale, Louise and Norman Sainz all of Valdosta, four brothers and a sister in law, Arthur T. Yale, Jr. of Havanna, Fla., Donald Yale, Charles Yale both of Valdosta and Norman and Jane Yale of Dallas, GA., numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Yale.

Graveside services will be held at 2pm, Monday, October 13, 2008 at Riverview Memorial Gardens with Mr. J. C. McMullen officiating.
