ROBERT L. ROHRBAUGH, 77, of Valdosta died Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at the Holly Hill Nursing Home. He was born on May 24, 1927 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Robert T. and Maude Rowan Rohrbaugh and had lived in Valdosta for many years. Mr. Rohrbaugh was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the DAV, VFW, American Legion and the 40 & 8. He was a retired truck driver and a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Reta and Raymond Johnson of Quitman, two grandchildren, Leo and his wife, Carolyn Johnson of Quitman, Frieda Sharpe of Adel, three great grandchildren, Tiffany Johnson, Danielle Giles and J. R. Giles, two brothers and sisters in law, Rich and Diane Rohrbaugh, Glenn and Suzanne Rohrbaugh all of Virginia, three sisters and three brothers in law, Karen Strain of Virginia, Jackie and Randall O’Brien, Mona Shultz, Everett O’Brien all of Maryland and Benny Peace of Valdosta, special niece, Becky Delk of Valdosta, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great great nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife, Claudine Peace Rohrbaugh, a sister, Shirley O’Brien, three sisters in law and two brothers in law, Louise and Raymond Marcantel, Elizabeth and Melvin Green and Hilda Peace.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Saturday, March 5, 2005 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Father John O’Brien officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery with military honors at the graveside. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
