Robert L. Guess

Robert L. Guess, 82, of Clyattville, GA died at Fellowship Home, Valdosta, on Monday, November 6, 2017. Born on June 18, 1935 in Brooks County, GA he was the son of the late John Henry Guess and Ollie Viola Lassiter Guess.
Mr. Guess was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from PCA. He was a member of Dasher Church of Christ. Mr. Guess enjoyed fishing. He cared for his wife, Margaret Barrett Guess for many years before her death on February 18, 2011. His family and his church was loved by him. He served as an elder when he was a member at Airport Church of Christ.
Survivors are a daughter and son in law, Marsha and Bob De La Cruz, Valdosta, son and daughter in law, Kevin and Theresa Guess, daughter, Laura Guess, son and daughter in law, Gregg and Mishelle Guess, Valdosta; grandchildren, Klint and Jessica Guess, Tifton, Allan and Rachel Guess, Huntsville, Alabama, Danielle Guess, Ft. Worth, TX, Alex De La Cruz, Valdosta, Andrea De La Cruz,Valdosta, Jack and Sabrina Hawthorne, Valdosta, Jason and Mellissa Hawthorne, Valdosta, Colton and Kayla Guess, Fairbanks, AK, Caleb Guess, Valdosta and Camron Guess, Valdosta; great grandchildren, Justin, Taylor, Ethan, and Sophie Guess, Jack and Jayden Hawthorne, Maggie Guess and Gunner Guess, two sisters and brother in law, Janell Elder of Raleigh, NC, Verna Faye and Jimmy Lord of Macon, sister in law, Rochelle Miller of Lake Park, brother in law and sister in law,Walter and Joyce Barrett of Dasher, brother and sister in law, Jimmy and Geneva Guess of Lake Park, numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Guess was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Barrett Guess, brother, J. B. Guess and sister, Lillie Mae Hagen.
Funeral services will be held at Dasher Church of Christ on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at two p. m. with Mr. David Nelson and Mr. Deland Guthrie. Burial will follow at Dasher Cemetery with a prayer by Mr. Mike Johnson. Visitation will be held from one until service time at the church.
