Robert J. (O1-Mac) McLeod, 64, of Valdosta died Thursday, June 3, 2010 at his home. He was born in Valdosta on May 16, 1946 to Annie Jewell Wright McLeod and the late James Alvin McLeod and was a lifelong resident of Valdosta. Mr. McLeod was a devoted member of the New Seasons Church of God and retired from Norfolk Southern Railway as a conductor.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters in law, Mark and Daphne McLeod, Keith and Shelley McLeod all of Hahira and Marty McLeod of Lake Park, eight grandchildren, Sandy McLeod, Candy McLeod, Justina McLeod, Tyler McLeod, Leah McLeod, Lyndsey McLeod, Megan McLeod and Kade McLeod, two great grandchildren, his mother, Annie Jewell McLeod of Valdosta, four brothers and three sisters in law, Albert and Sandra McLeod of Barney, Allen and Ellen McLeod, James and Chris McLeod, Alton (Peanut) McLeod all of Valdosta, two sisters and a brother in law, Jeannie and Walt Simmons, Rose Gaskins all of Valdosta. He was preceded in death by his brother in law and best friend, Lawton Gaskins.
Funeral services will be held at 4pm, Saturday, June 5, 2010 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Maxie Williams officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
