Robert Green

Robert (Bert) (Bubba) Green, 66, of Valdosta, died on Monday, September 28, 2009 at Langdale Hospice House after a short illness. Born in Valdosta on July 22, 1943, he was the son of the late Caulie Milton Green and Addie Ruth Swymer Green. Mr. Green was a maintenance engineer at South Georgia Medical Center, was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He was of the Christian faith and a Mason of the Azalea Lodge. He loved to hunt and sit on his front porch and watch nature.

Mr. Green is survived by his wife, Jane L. Green of Valdosta; one son and daughter in law, Jackie and Ronda Porter of Barney; four daughters and two sons in law, Barbara Lee of Lake Park, Wanda Yeomans of Valdosta, Belinda Gail and Stuart Chappell of Morven, Vanessa and Tommy Gibbs of Hahira, three step-sons and two step daughters in law, Jamey J. Ferrell of Valdosta, Robby and Heidi Ferrell of Hahira, Scotty and Christy Ferrell of Pocatello, Idaho; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, two sisters and one brother in law, Francis and Tom Godwin and Jean Green of Perry, Florida, a special adopted son, Bryan Cox of Valdosta.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2009, at 11a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Mr. Stephen Norris will officiate. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Langdale Hospice House, 2251 Pineview Drive, Valdosta, GA 31602.
