ROBERT FREEMAN DASHER, 82, of Valdosta died Sunday, October 16, 2005 at his home. He was born in Lowndes County on June 17, 1923 to the late Walter W. and Sallie W. Dasher. Mr. Dasher was retired from the United States Postal Service and a veteran of the United States Navy and the United States Army having served in World War II. He attended Mount Pleasant Church of Christ and Dasher Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Claudia Wisenbaker Dasher of Valdosta, his children and their spouses, Wayne and Judy Dasher of Nashville, Cheryl and Edward Herring of Lake Park, Larry Dasher of Valdosta, Talley and Pam Dasher of Valdosta, Katina and B. C. Starkson of Valdosta, one sister, Margaret Garner Tankersley of Valdosta, his grandchildren, Tommy Herring, Robbie Herring, Ben Herring, Cathy Herring, April Dasher, Jacob Dasher, Brent Dasher and Garrett Dasher, great grandchild, Thomas Herring. He was preceded in death by five brothers, John L. Dasher, W. Remer Dasher, Victor E. Dasher, Joseph W. Dasher and Roy H. Dasher, three sister, Minnie Clyde Wisenbaker, Sara E. Robinson and Frances Finney Devane and one grandson, Billy Herring.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, October 18, 2005 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. David Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the Dasher Cemetery.
