Robert Francis Coombs

Robert Francis Coombs, 76, of Hahira died Sunday, May 20, 2012 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born in Hahira on August 8, 1935 to the late William Jessie and Mittie Williams Coombs. Mr. Coombs was a retired heating and air supervisor with Civil Service at Moody Air Force Base and a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. He loved Jesus, his family especially his grandchildren and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Jackie Coombs of Hahira, his children and their spouses, Patti and Terry Redding, Tim and Linda Coombs, Mike and Pam Coombs all of Hahira, Leslie Bartlett and her fiancé, Cary Hersch of Jacksonville, Fla., his grandchildren and their spouses, Justin Redding, Garrett Redding, Chris and Carla Coombs, Brittany and Dean Haney, Bradley Bartlett and his fiancé, Anna, Rance and Taylor Coombs, Demi Bartlett and her fiancé, Nick Hyzer, Corey Coombs, Callie Coombs, Jesse Coombs, Bella Hersch, great grandchildren, Grace Haney, Sara Jane Coombs, Noah Hyzer, nephews, Gene Coombs of California, Pete Cowart of Valdosta, Larry Coombs of Florida, sisters in law, Edith Fields of Hahira, Evelyn Coombs of Valdosta, a good friend, Mack Shiver of Valdosta. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jessie Mae Coombs and two brothers, Kenneth Coombs and Marion Coombs.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Ike Jefferson and Rev. Charlie Scarborough officiating. Burial will follow in the Fellowship Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm at the Martin/McLane Funeral Home, 401 S. Church St., Hahira, GA 31632.
