Robert Edward (Bobby) Connell, Jr.

Robert Edward "Bobby" Connell, Jr., 65, of Lakeland, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Lakeland Villa with his daughter by his side, after a lengthy illness.

He was born July 10, 1948 in Apalachicola, FL, a son of the late Agnes Louise M. Connell and Robert Edward Connell, Sr.. Bobby cherished his family and friends. He was an Episcopalian, a lifelong mechanic, and avid hunter and fisherman, and a pet lover.

He is survived by a daughter, Jeanette L. "Jenny" Connell of Pensacola, FL; a son, Robert Edward Connell III of Panama City, FL; step-son, Daniel Hesters and wife Breena of Cumming, GA; three step-grandchildren, Zachary Lovell, Dakota Lovell and Jacob Hesters; three sisters, Karen Biddy and husband Jim of Tallahassee, FL, Christian Connell of Apalachicola, FL, and Robin Connell of Tallahassee, FL; an uncle, James Connell of Tallahassee, FL; his aunt, Barbara Marks of Apalachicola, FL and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Connell; maternal grandparents, W.H. and Agnes Marks; and paternal grandparents, Christian and James Connell.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Connell will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014, at the Magnolia Room Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Willis officiating. On Friday, May 16, 2014, a Memorial Service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, Apalachicola, FL, with The Rev. Martha C. Harris officiating.
