Robert Allen Davis, I

Robert Allen Davis I, 86, of Echols County, died on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Riverbrook Health Care in Homerville following a period of declining health. He was born on July 23, 1938, in Howell, Georgia to the late Allen Haulie and Verdie Copeland Davis. Mr. Davis was a retired transportation engineer with the Georgia Department of Transportation after 34 years of service. He also had served as a county commissioner for Echols County. He loved farming, fishing and was an avid hunter and was a member of the Bamburg Hunting Club. He was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lola Davis of Howell, Georgia; his son and daughter-in-law, Rob and Mandee Davis; his grandchildren, Hayden Davis (honorary granddaughter Anachris Rodriguez), Logan Davis and Preston Davis all of Howell; his sister-in-law, Judy Copeland of Tampa, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Billy Copeland and Linda and Ronnie Miller.

Services for Robert Allen Davis I will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025, in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Boykin officiating. The burial will follow in the Wayfare Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
