Robert David Bennett

Robert David Bennett, 64, of Valdosta died on Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Langdale Hospice House following a lengthy illness. He was born on August 24, 1951 in Valdosta to the late Joseph Lee Bennett and Doris Margaret Black Wilson and has been a resident of this area most of his life. He was employed with South Georgia Medical Center as an R.N. in the Critical Care unit. David was of the Christian faith. He was loved and respected by all who knew him and he had a nurturing and caring heart. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Survivors include his niece, Michelle Cooper of Valdosta; three grand-nieces, Jordan Voigt and her husband Turner, Shelby Brooks, and Sarah Brooks all of Valdosta; two great grand-nieces, Emersyn Voigt and Ally Voigt; a great grand-nephew, Cason Tyson all of Valdosta; a half- sister, Tracy Carey and a half-brother, Richard Wilson both of Lake Park, Florida; an uncle and aunt, Gene and Gloria Bennett of Nicholson, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his sister, Claudia Bennett.

A memorial service for David Bennett will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2015 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Minister J.T. Brown officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Langdale Hospice House.
